Voice for the Voiceless DTS — 2014
A new year has begun and with it a sense that the battle is intensifying . . .  It's not for the faint-hearted . . .

Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize—a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion]. (Amplified Bible)

We saw God's grace & protection over us and the Voice for the Voiceless DTS (Discipleship Training School) we led over the last three months.  Ten days into the lecture phase in October, one of our students was hit by a car and could have been killed according to eye-witnesses.  The ER  nurse made the comment "I think angels caught you as you fell."  She didn't even have a broken bone!  Thirteen days before the end of the lecture phase in December another one of our students was attacked and also could have died, but God's protection was on them.  We give thanks to God and are very aware that as we, our staff and our students continue to say "Yes, no matter what it takes!" to God, the enemy is walking around like a "prowling lion".

In December one of the students in another DTS tragically drowned as she was out on a hike with friends - we know that she is in heaven because she loved & followed Jesus.  Right now we have search & rescue looking for one of our staff who works with YWAM Ships, after their vessel was capsized by some rogue waves in rough weather.  Of the 5 crew onboard, 4 are safe and they are still looking for Aaron - the second mate.  The search is now into the third day, so please pray.

We leave in 4 days time to go on pastoral visits to our outreach teams in the Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, Nepal and France.  We believe God is using these young men & women of God who have determined in their hearts to follow Him, to bring light in the darkness and God's love to whoever crosses their paths.  As we are with each team we will encourage them, pray for them and minister to them and the people they are working amongst.

It's been said that it's like we're in the 4th quarter of a game and the stakes are high.  Bernie and I have determined in our hearts that we are not backing down, and that in 2015 we will continue to say "Yes, no matter what it takes!" to God.  He is our prize!  He is the "pearl of great price"!
